The United Grand Lodge of England is the governing head of Freemasonry in the United Kingdom and is one of the oldest secular social and charitable organisations in the world, modern Freemasonry’s roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our castles and cathedrals.
We have the largest number of members in our county boundaries outside of London, with over 250 individual lodges and approximately 8500 members, meeting in one of 37 centres/halls. The website was established as a resource for its current members and their families, as well as members of the organisation throughout the world with connections to the area.
